INDEX / 10 / TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE

Code Lab.

Test the claim. Preserve the method.

Present small, reproducible technical demonstrations with inputs, versions, expected observations and known limitations.

THE SCOPE

Minimal experiments, executable teaching examples, testing harnesses and artifact comparison.

This starting dossier establishes a research remit and reference points for the section. It does not claim to be a comprehensive historical survey. Future articles will identify primary evidence, publication or artifact dates, competing accounts and the limits of verification.

01 / EVIDENCE LENS

Show the environment

A code example is more useful when its interpreter, compiler, operating system, dependencies and flags are documented.

02 / EVIDENCE LENS

Keep observations separate from explanation

Observed output should not be confused with inferred causes. Record uncertainty and alternatives where relevant.

03 / EVIDENCE LENS

Reproducibility includes failure

Record mismatches, negative results and limitations; a failed reproduction may clarify the historical record rather than invalidate it.

OPEN QUESTIONS / NOT ASSUMPTIONS

Questions that guide the reporting.

  1. 01Can the reader obtain the required tools?
  2. 02What exactly should a successful run produce?
  3. 03Which inputs or settings invalidate the result?

PRIMARY & TECHNICAL REFERENCES

Starting sources

The references below are paths into the evidence, not a claim that every historical question is settled. Each future article will provide its own direct citations and version-specific evidence.

  1. 01LLVM — tutorial and worked examples llvm.org
  2. 02Git — documentation git-scm.com

VERSION RECORD / 1.0

This dossier is revisable.

2026-10-08 — Initial edition. Research scope, evidence lenses, questions and reference starting points published. No external submissions have been reviewed for this initial edition. Future substantive changes should be documented with supporting evidence.
